Privacy Policy for Zedoaid

The Zero Dropout Initiative (ZEDO) was established to combat school dropouts. Through Zedo Aid, we support school and community campaigns that foster safe, supportive, and conducive learning environments, ensuring the retention and successful completion of education for at-risk learners.

Zedoaid (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of the personal information you provide. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect data when you use the Zedoaid application. By accessing or using Zedoaid, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy.

To fulfill Zedoaid’s purpose of gathering and understanding reasons for school dropouts in Uganda, we collect data from two groups:

a. Data on Student Dropouts

  • Full Name of the Student
  • Class/Grade the Student was in
  • School Name
  • Reason for Dropout

Purpose: This information is collected to analyze dropout trends and reasons, enabling stakeholders to develop targeted interventions.

b. User Information

  • Full Name
  • Email Address
  • Phone Number
  • Name of School or Community
  • Password (for login and security purposes)
  • Permission Access (e.g., level of access for data processing)

Purpose: This information allows us to provide access to the application, ensure secure user authentication, and facilitate data management.

2. How We Use Your Information

The data collected is used for the following purposes:

  • To Identify Dropout Trends: Data helps us understand reasons for school dropouts, track trends, and improve education outcomes.
  • To Manage User Accounts: User information is used to register and manage your Zedoaid account.
  • To Facilitate Communication: We may use your contact information to share updates, request further data, or respond to inquiries.
  • To Improve Our Services: The information gathered helps us enhance the Zedoaid platform and its functionality.
  • To Ensure Security: Passwords and permission levels are used to ensure authorized access only.

3. Legal Basis for Data Processing

We collect and process your data based on the following legal grounds:

  • Consent: By using Zedoaid, you consent to the collection and use of your personal data.
  • Legitimate Interest: To fulfill our objective of identifying and addressing school dropout issues.
  • Compliance with Legal Obligations: Where required, we may collect and process data to meet legal obligations under Ugandan laws.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. However, data may be shared in the following circumstances:

  • With Authorized Stakeholders: Data may be shared with the Ministry of Education, schools, and other authorized bodies.
  • With Service Providers: Third-party service providers may access data strictly to perform services such as hosting and storage.

We take appropriate measures to secure your data, including:
